Analysis of Kerrang! Front cover



For the front cover of Kerrang, they have only used 4 colours, so that the cover doesn’t get over powered by colours. The colours are very bold/bright which are red, yellow, black and white which are quite dominant. The layout of the images and text is very well layed out so that the reader’s eyes travel around the magazine.
For this particular magazine the target audience would be for ages between 15 – 30 year olds, but would mainly aim at the younger generation. They use the same font for the title of the magazine because they need to keep it the same so the readers get familiar with it.
For this type of magazine they have used the right type of clothing onto the celebrities, because they want to make the audience familiarise with the singer/band on the cover. The price of the magazine is a good price for how much you get in the magazine including posters and competitions.
Whenever they do a photo shoot for the cover or any other images for the magazine they don’t tend to use props, they may occasionally have props e.g. flags, hats, bags etc. The line “Inside their most successful year ever!” they use that type of wording because it will bring the reader in to then decide to read more about the band/singer.
